WHAT IS FILTER COFFEE, INVENTION AND BENEFITS OF FILTER COFFEE

Filter coffee, which is one of the most consumed coffee types today, is frequently preferred by coffee lovers because it burns fat, is practical and gives energy, as well as its flavor.

WHAT IS FILTER COFFEE?

Filter coffee is a type of coffee obtained as a result of brewing ground coffee beans with hot water. The brewed coffee is separated from the pulp by filtering through a paper or metal filter and is ready to be served. Unlike Turkish coffee and soluble coffees, we do not drink the grounds formed after brewing filter coffee. It has a clear and fluid consistency compared to other types of coffee. The coffee we produce is much softer than espresso. Because with the paper filter, we retain many oils that bring bitter/bitter tastes to our glass. If you are using 100% Arabica and qualified coffees, it is possible to get many types of aromas from the coffee, as the ground coffee with hot water is brewed for a while in the filter coffee brewing methods. While you can get floral flavors from coffee beans grown close to flower gardens, you are more likely to get citrus flavors from beans grown in fields adjacent to orchards.

Basically, the concept of espresso and filter coffee is the same. Because hot water is added to the ground coffee in its main structure, the coffee is filtered on the ground and the liquid inside is transferred to the cup. However, there is a fundamental difference between espresso and filter coffee. While espresso is brewed at high pressure, in filter coffee, water is brewed slowly in ground coffee. It collapses to the bottom after a while due to the effect of gravity. For this reason, the brewing time of filter coffee is longer than espresso.

Filter coffee needs more coffee grounds and more water to brew. There's no 30ml filter coffee like espresso, although no one enjoys it. Filter coffee, also known as drip, has less acidity. Therefore, it gives the coffee a more complex taste. Coffee drinkers can easily experience many different tastes and aromas in the same filter coffee.

There are many filter coffee brewing equipment and methods. It was invented in Germany in 1908 by the scientist Melitta Bentz, under home conditions.

 THE INVENTORY OF FILTER COFFEE

Filter coffee is an invention that we can say is late in the historical process of coffee. Melitta Bentz, who lived in Germany for the first time, invented filter coffee in 1908 at the age of 35. The only reason why the scientist, who made history with her invention, needed a filter was because she did not want grounds to come into her mouth while drinking coffee. He produced and patented a filter coffee device using everyday items in domestic conditions and established a company with the income he earned from it. The company is still managed by his descendants and operates internationally.

After this date, coffee lovers and manufacturers inspired by Melitta Bentz developed many new equipment and diversified the filter coffee, and eventually it took its current form.

In fact, considering the starting point, it does not match with the coffee culture in the Ottoman Empire, due to the separation of ground coffee from coffee. However, both have their own pros and cons, it would not be right to compare, everyone's taste is unique.

  • WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF FILTER COFFEE?

Regular consumption of filter coffee has many positive benefits to the person. The benefits of filter coffee, such as being delicious and healthy, burning fat and giving energy, cannot be counted.
